Membership in the library is free to all permanent residents of The United Townships of Head, Clara & Maria.  We welcome past Township residents now residing in Deep River, as well as residents of Laurentian Hills.  We ask those wishing to join our library to bring along verification of your address such as your driver’s license, mail, or something that confirms your identity and address.

Please sign your card right away.

Your new library card is yours and yours alone.  No one else may use your card.  If your card is lost, you must pay $5.00 to replace it.

You must present your card each time you wish to take out or renew library materials. You also may continue to phone the library to renew books if you wish or do it online (instructions below).

Please note that you have been assigned a PIN number.  This number is for you to use when logging into the online catalogue, JASI iBistro.

Interlibrary Loans

Can’t find what you’re looking for?  Patrons may request interlibrary loan service for items not owned by the library.  The staff will do their best to obtain the item. Loan periods for such items are set by the lending library, and all charges are the responsibility of the borrower.  Overdue fines are $1.00 per day.  If a book is damaged or lost the patron will be charged the rate of replacement as per the lending library's policy.  Interloan privileges can be limited or revoked at our discretion.

Our Collection

The library’s collection consists of hundreds of books for adults and juniors in a variety of formats including large print and audio, with 5 new magazine subscriptions.  In 2008, the local Health Unit donated 6 pedometers for those who would like to count their steps.

We also have 2 free museum passes that give families access to several Ottawa Valley museums.  All these items may be borrowed in the same manner as a book or magazine, just by using your library membership card.

Museum Passes

The library has passes to different Ottawa museums.  Each pass can be borrowed for 1 week and is good for admission for 2 adults and 3 kids.  We currently have a Nature Card to the Museum of Nature as well as passes to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, Canada Aviation and Space Museum and the Ottawa Museum Network.
